Hi! We need help to keep up with life!
We're two families looking for a part-time chef/cook - we each have our own separate arrangement with the same chef, so you'd essentially have two independent part-time jobs (with two separate families, two separate pay arrangements) that happen to fit together nicely if you want extra hours.
"Family A" is self-employed working adults with three kids - an 11-year-old and twins who are almost 9. "Family B" is two adults with a 9-year-old. We've done this before and it worked really well; we had our previous chef for nearly 5 years, but her family circumstances have changed so she's no longer available. We're sad to lose her, but perhaps this is YOUR lucky opportunity?
We each have dietary needs that make store-bought "convenience food" tricky. We love to cook and bake, but there just aren't enough hours in the week - so we're hoping to find someone to help lighten the load.
- Perhaps you're a student who wants to pick up some extra cash?
- Perhaps you're a chef who doesn't want to work in restaurants?
- Perhaps you're just looking for a side-gig you can do from home?
- So long as you like the idea of healthy cooking, we'd be excited to hear from you!
How it would work: This isn't a shared or split role - each family would work with you independently, with our own schedule, own pay, and own needs. We're flexible on timing - whatever suits you. Ideally you'd cook at your own place and drop things off, but either family's kitchen is available during school hours if that's easier for you.
Food shopping could be part of it, or we can just supply what you need - happy to sort that out with you directly.
What you'd be making: The two families have different needs, so you could take on one or both depending on what you enjoy -
- Family A leans toward baking and snacks: banana bread, muffins, flatbreads, granola-type things — all gluten-free, and sometimes dairy-free too - plus dinners that reheat well or are good cold.
- Family B is more meal-prep focused: chopped veggies and prepped fruit, high-protein snacks, packaged lunches (salads, soups), and 2-3 premade suppers per week.
If this sounds interesting, send us a note - tell us a bit about yourself and why you'd like to be a part-time family chef, and let us know if you'd be open to working with one or both families. We'd love to hear from you!
..Joel
