First Quality Packaging is seeking a Highly skilled and experienced Printing Technician to support operations within our food packaging manufacturing facility in Mississauga. This role is responsible for the setup, operation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of specialized printing equipment used to produce high-quality, custom-printed food packaging products, including pizza boxes, bakery packaging, paper bags, and other food service materials.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in printing processes, with a focus on colour management, print quality control, and machine performance. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, minimizing downtime, optimizing production efficiency, and meeting customer delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and adjust printing presses to meet production specifications
- Calibrate equipment to ensure accurate colour matching and print quality
- Monitor print runs to maintain consistency and adherence to quality standards
- Troubleshoot mechanical and print-related issues to minimize downtime
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on printing equipment
- Ensure all products meet customer requirements and company quality standards
- Interpret job orders, production schedules, and technical specifications
- Collaborate with production and packaging teams to maintain workflow efficiency
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a printing or manufacturing environment
- Experience with Manroland printing presses is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of printing processes, colour theory, and quality control
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment
- Knowledge of production workflows and manufacturing best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Effective communication skills and ability to follow technical instructions
