Job Description:
The Prince Edward Fitness and Aquatic Centre (PEFAC) is seeking a responsible, dedicated, and professional Lifeguard to join our aquatics team for a 10 week duration with opportunity to extend the position under a new agreement . As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all swimmers and maintaining the pool area in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor pool activities to ensure the safety of all guests
- Enforce pool rules and regulations in a courteous and professional manner
- Respond to emergencies and provide first aid and CPR when necessary
- Conduct regular pool inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety
- Assist in maintaining and cleaning pool equipment and facilities
- Provide excellent customer service to all members and event participants
Qualifications:
- Current Lifeguard Certification (e.g., National Lifeguard Service (NLS) or equivalent)
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification (must be current)
- Previous lifeguard experience is an asset, but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
