We are seeking skilled technicians with hands-on experience installing and supporting internet communication terminals, fleet routers, and related hardware in both field and production settings.
Position OverviewField Technician Responsibilities
- Install and configure internet communication terminals, bus routers, antennas, and related communication equipment on transit and fleet vehicles.
- Route, secure, and terminate network and power cabling while ensuring neat, professional installations.
- Weatherproof installations and ensure compliance with company and safety standards.
- Test system connectivity, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs as required.
- Document installations accurately and communicate effectively with operations, management, and customers.
- Travel locally and regionally to customer sites as required.
Production Technician Responsibilities
- Assemble, configure, and test communication equipment for deployment.
- Maintain inventory and perform quality inspections.
- Troubleshoot hardware and prepare equipment for field installations.
- Support logistics for field deployments.
- Ensure adherence to internal standards, documentation, and quality procedures.
Key Qualifications
- Installation experience is a must.
- Hands-on experience installing mobile connectivity hardware, communication equipment, or similar systems.
- Experience with network and structured cabling installations.
- Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to work confidently with equipment and hardware.
- Experience using hand and power tools is required.
- Experience with electrical wiring, cable management, and network equipment.
- Highly adaptable with the ability to identify problems and develop practical solutions in the field.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with senior managers, customers, and team members while following instructions effectively.
- Highly organized, efficient, and self-managed with the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying field environments.
- Valid G Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Fall Protection / Working at Heights certification.
Assets
- Experience with fleet operations and/or public transit vehicles.
- Knowledge of networking protocols, telecommunications systems, or wireless communications.
- Previous production experience with electronics, hardware assembly, or technical manufacturing.
