Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Automotive Service Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers requiring vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a seamless experience from check-in to vehicle pickup. This role requires strong automotive knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. The Service Advisor will coordinate with technicians to provide accurate estimates and ensure timely completion of services, including oil changes, brake repairs, engine and transmission repairs, steering and suspension work, tire services, and more.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns
- Explain repair recommendations clearly and accurately, utilizing auto estimating and service writing skills
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure efficient workflow
- Upsell additional services when appropriate
- Manage vehicle maintenance appointments
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper documentation of services performed
- Provide detailed explanations of repair procedures and costs to customers
- Follow up with customers regarding vehicle status and ensure their satisfaction upon completion of service
- Maintain thorough knowledge of automotive repair procedures including transmissions, engines, suspensions, wheel alignments, and more
- Stay updated on new automotive technologies and diagnostic tools to better serve customers
Qualifications
- Proven experience or background in auto service management is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and mechanical systems
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to clients
- Experience in auto estimating software and service writing is preferred
- Ability to upsell additional services while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Mechanical knowledge or mechanic experience is a plus for understanding complex repairs
- Familiarity with auto sales processes can be advantageous but not required
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional service
