Position: Weekend Kennel Attendant (Summer Seasonal)
We're hiring a reliable, energetic person to cover weekend shifts through the summer season. This role is primarily cleaning-focused, you'll also check dogs in and out, take them out for play time, and help keep our cat room clean daily.
Schedule
- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts (1–3 shifts/week depending on availability)
- Summer season only
- No weekday shifts unless coverage is needed
- Additional hours may be available for the right candidate
- Please note: there are no bus routes to our location. Applicants must have a valid driver's licence and reliable access to a vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Feed and care for dogs and cats according to set schedules
- Administer medications as directed
- Bathe and brush dogs
- Clean and maintain kennels, play yards, cat room, and common areas including waste cleanup, deep cleaning, and organization
- Assist with outdoor play sessions
- Prepare and portion pet meals
What We're Looking For
- Strong work ethic and ability to handle a fast-paced, physically demanding environment (lifting up to 50 lbs, on your feet most of the shift)
- Comfort working with dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Reliable and punctual; weekend coverage is essential to our operations
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized under time constraints
- Previous animal care or customer service experience is an asset but not required
