Position Overview
As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, security, and availability of enterprise databases across production and development environments. You will support database operations, monitoring, backups, optimization, migrations, and troubleshooting while helping drive best practices for database management and cloud modernization.
This role requires a strong technical foundation in Microsoft SQL Server environments, database security, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies. Experience with cloud platforms and automation tools is highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain SQL Server database environments
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal database performance
- Perform database backups, restores, disaster recovery testing, and maintenance activities
- Monitor database health, storage, indexing, and query performance
- Troubleshoot database issues, bottlenecks, and production incidents
- Implement database security, user access controls, and compliance best practices
- Support database migrations, upgrades, patching, and deployments
- Collaborate with software developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams
- Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
- Assist with database automation, scripting, and process improvements
- Support cloud-hosted database environments and modernization initiatives
- Participate in on-call or after-hours support when required
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or Database Engineer
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration and support
- Experience with performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of backup/recovery processes and high availability solutions
- Knowledge of database security, permissions, and data integrity best practices
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Proficiency with SQL scripting and automation tools
- Familiarity with monitoring and reporting tools
- Understanding of database replication, maintenance plans, and disaster recovery
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $95,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
