Experienced Cook / Chef
Location: Whitby, Ontario
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay: $23.00/hour
Duration: Temporary- Short term assignment
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cook / Chef to provide temporary kitchen support at our Whitby location.
This role is ideal for someone with strong back-of-house experience who can step into a structured operation, follow recipes accurately, and support both daily meal production and catering preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of cold and hot food items including salads, sandwiches, parfaits, breakfast, and lunch meals
- Assist with food preparation, cooking, and assembly for daily service
- Support catering preparation and packaging of meals for later service
- Follow established recipes and kitchen procedures accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
- Assist with general kitchen duties as required
- Work collaboratively as part of a small, busy kitchen team
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience preparing cold food items (salads, sandwiches, grab-and-go items)
- Minimum 1 year experience as a line cook or similar role preparing breakfast and lunch items
- Experience working with commercial kitchen equipment
- Strong time management skills and ability to work under strict timelines
- Ability to work independently and take direction as needed
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Must be able to provide a clean criminal background check
