Labourer

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Laborer include, but are not limited to:
- Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials.
- Shovel materials to and from construction areas including dirt and debris.
- Load and unload construction supplies and materials from trucks manually and assist operators when needed to unload other tools and supplies over 50lbs.
- Spotting for equipment and assisting operators when required.
- Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site daily.
- Physical Labor including shoveling, raking, and other tasks as directed by the site supervision.
- Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
- Collaborate with the team and suggest ideas for company improvements and safety.
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, and subcontractors to adopt safety as a culture.
- Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
- Work with the Foreman/Safety Department to investigate damage, incidents or near misses on the worksite, and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company’s Safety Program.
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
- Excellent problem-solving skills required.
- Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have proven ability to work in tight spots.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work in outdoors in physically demanding conditions.
- Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
- CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support.
- CSTS-09, or CSTS- 2020 required.
- Successful candidates are required to have personal reliable transportation, valid driver’s license.
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for pre access to some sites when required.
- Candidates must successfully complete Tierra Constructions Orientation prior to work
Schedule:
- Average of 10+/- Hour shifts
- Day shift
- Overtime as required
- In-town work
- Monday-Saturday
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
