Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Hygienist to join our team at Dentistry by the Bay. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, promoting oral health, and supporting the overall operations of the dental office. Duties
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
- Assist in patient examinations and record keeping using Paradigm or similar dental software
- Support orthodontic procedures and provide assistance with orthodontic appliances when necessary
- Manage patient appointments and follow-up care scheduling
- Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure all dental instruments are properly sanitized
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns and explaining treatment plans clearly
- Assist with pediatric dental care, ensuring a gentle approach tailored to younger patients
- Support the dental team with administrative tasks as needed, including medical terminology documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Dental Hygienist license with the CDHO
- Experience with Paradigm or other dental practice management software preferred
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures beneficial
- Previous experience is an asset however new grads are welcome to apply
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with patients of all ages
- Ability to work well within a team environment and maintain professionalism at all times
Pay: $53.00-$58.00 per hour
