Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for receiving incoming materials and items, organizing, and maintaining warehouse storage areas. Physically packing purchase orders to fulfill customers requests. Staging and loading shipments onto trucks. Various weekly and monthly inventory cycle counts. Removal of waste from the warehouse and greenhouse areas. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, have attention to detail and be able to work as part of a team at a fast pace.
Job Duties:
· Safely operate a forklift, conduct daily visual inspections, and promptly report any identified issues or malfunctions.
· Conduct and maintain inventory by performing audits, physical counts, and ensuring accurate stock management through proper identification, labeling, and recording of materials and supplies.
· Read paperwork (physical or computer generated) or receive verbal instructions for work assignments.
· Record accurate and timely entries to the ERP and/or inventory management software.
· Maintaining confidentiality of all proprietary information, company data, and personnel information.
· Read orders to ascertain specifications and quantities of product received.
· Fulfill orders for transport and arrange in staging area (Greenhouse or Production).
· Stock shelves and keep stock clean and in order.
· Ensure FIFO and GMP (Good Manufacturing Processes) practices are followed.
· Wear appropriate uniform and personal protective equipment in accordance with policies and procedures. This includes full gowning when entering a cannabis present area.
· Transfer materials between process and storage areas.
· All other duties as required.
Requirements:
· Must have an Ontario Secondary Graduation Diploma or Ministry of Education equivalency.
· Must have a minimum of 1 year working in a warehouse environment.
· Operate electric or propane counterbalance forklifts (6+ months experience, no certification needed, but is an asset).
· Computer literate.
· Knowledge of ‘Purchasing and Receiving’ operations.
· Familiar with computer-based receiving.
· Able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check.
· GMP and Cannabis Industry (SOR 2018 144) knowledge will be considered an asset.
· Previous knowledge of ERP and WMS will be considered an asset.
Your Environment:
· Able to wear the appropriate PPE and gowning material when required.
· Safety shoes are required
· Lifting up to 50 lbs. on regular basis.
· Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching.
· Ability to perform a series of repetitive operations requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity,
· Perform general physical activities to load, unload, sort and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment.
· Perform tasks in multi-temperature environments.
· Flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
