Castle Access Panels & Forms Inc. is a manufacturer of custom Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum (GRG) architectural products, supplying projects across North America. Our products include decorative cornices, crown moldings, ceiling panels, friezes, column covers, access panels, and other custom architectural elements.
We are looking for a detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafting Technician to join our team at our North York office. This is a full-time, on-site position and is not available for remote work.
The successful candidate will help create technical drawings and documentation for our growing product catalog. Working from physical GRG products, you will measure, document, and create accurate AutoCAD drawings including profiles, elevations, and section details for manufacturing and specification purposes.
Responsibilities
- Measure and document existing GRG architectural products.
- Create accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings from physical samples.
- Produce front views, side views, cross-sections, profiles, and detailed dimensions.
- Prepare drawings for manufacturing, specifications, and product documentation.
- Build and maintain a digital CAD library of architectural products.
- Read and interpret architectural drawings and construction details.
- Work with the production team to verify product details and drawing accuracy.
- Assist with creating product catalog materials by organizing product information and images.
- Photograph products for catalog and documentation purposes (photography experience is an asset, but not required).
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong AutoCAD 2D skills.
- Ability to create accurate technical drawings from physical objects.
- Ability to read architectural and construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organization and time management skills.
Assets:
- Experience with photography and product documentation.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or similar software.
- Experience in architectural products, millwork, cabinetry, ornamental plaster, stone fabrication, precast concrete, or manufacturing.
- Understanding of architectural moldings, cornices, ceiling details, or decorative elements.
Additional Requirements
- This position requires working on-site at our North York office.
- Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
