Medical Office Assistant / Clinical Assistant – Specialty Clinic
Centrio Medical Specialists is looking for a reliable, friendly, and motivated Medical Office Assistant / Clinical Assistant to join our specialty medical clinic near Metrotown in Burnaby.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with patients, is organized, communicates well, and is willing to learn new clinical skills. Prior MOA experience is an asset, but we are open to training the right candidate with strong customer service experience, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn and adjust with feedback.
The successful candidate will help with front-desk medical office duties and will also receive training in clinic-based procedures such as ECGs, Holter monitor setup, cardiac diagnostic support, and allergy procedures including skin testing.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting and checking in patients in a professional and compassionate manner
- Booking, confirming, and managing patient appointments
- Answering phone calls and communicating with patients, physician offices, and other healthcare providers
- Managing referrals, faxes, documents, and EMR tasks
- Preparing patients for appointments and procedures
- Assisting with ECGs, Holter monitor setup, and other cardiac diagnostic procedures after training
- Assisting with allergy clinic procedures, including skin testing, after training
- Maintaining clean, organized, and safe clinic areas
- Working closely with physicians, MOAs, and other team members
- Receiving feedback professionally and adjusting workflow as needed
Qualifications and strengths we are looking for:
- MOA experience, MOA certificate, or related medical office experience is an asset
- Retail, hospitality, or customer service experience is also valuable
- Cantonese and/or Mandarin language ability is strongly preferred
- Comfortable working with patients of different ages and backgrounds
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and detail-oriented
- Able to multitask in a busy clinic environment
- Willing to learn clinical procedures and follow clinic protocols carefully
- Positive team attitude and respectful communication style
- Comfortable using computers; EMR experience is an asset
- Able to work Saturdays is preferred
Compensation and benefits:
- $19–$26 per hour, commensurate with experience, language skills, and clinical skill set
- Health benefits may be available after one year of successful employment, subject to eligibility and clinic policy
- Training provided for ECGs, Holter monitor setup, allergy procedures, and clinic-specific workflows
Job type:
Part-time or full-time hours may be available depending on clinic needs and candidate availability.
