Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced with managing and processing payroll and employee benefits. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and payroll systems, as well as strong data entry skills. The Payroll and Benefits Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and enhancing employee satisfaction through timely and accurate payroll processing.
Responsibilities
- Process semi-monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely processing and compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
- Collaborate with controller to ensure proper handling of employee benefits and deductions.
- Generate payroll reports for management review and assist with audits as needed.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Processing some accounts payable, accounts receivable and accounting functions.
- Various other accounting and administration functions.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Payroll and Benefits Administrator or similar role.
- Proficiency in payroll software such as Payworks.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting and accounting processes.
- Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with various departments within the organization.
