Position Summary
As an Occupational Therapy Consultant on our Specialized Learning Supports team, you will partner with schools to empower K-12 students with diverse learning needs. By implementing targeted strategies and environmental adaptations, you will ensure every student has the tools they need to achieve academic and social success.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

administer and interpret formal and informal assessments to evaluate functional skill levels and analyze medical or professional reports to guide specialized educational programming

provide classroom-based support for K-12 students with diverse learning needs, recommending targeted interventions, environmental modifications, and specialized equipment to promote independence and academic success

design and implement evidence-based occupational therapy strategies in collaboration with school staff, using modeling, demonstrating, and coaching to enhance student participation

deliver consultative services to families and partner with transdisciplinary teams, schools, and outside agencies to ensure cohesive support that increases student functioning at home, school and in the community
Education/Qualifications
-
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy

active registration and in good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)

a minimum of three years related experience including classroom-based service with children and youth with diverse learning needs

excellent communication, collaboration and consulting skills
-
advanced skills in diagnosis and program intervention
Rate of Pay
$52.52 - $67.17 per hour
