Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electromyography (EMG) Technician to join our healthcare team in providing advanced diagnostic services within a high-acuity medical environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing electromyography procedures to assist in diagnosing neuromuscular disorders, supporting physicians with accurate and timely results. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, contributing to patient care.
Starting with 1 day a month and plan to increase days once demand increases.
Duties
- Prepare patients for EMG procedures by explaining the process and ensuring patient comfort.
- Conduct electromyography tests, including nerve conduction studies, to evaluate neuromuscular function.
- Analyze and record electrical activity of muscles and nerves, ensuring data accuracy for diagnostic evaluation.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, findings, and patient responses in compliance with medical standards.
- Collaborate with neurologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret results and assist in diagnosis.
- Monitor vital signs during procedures to ensure patient safety and stability.
- Assist with additional diagnostic assessments related to neurophysiology as needed.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment during testing.
Requirements
- Certification or training in electromyography (EMG) techniques is preferred; relevant experience is highly valued.
- Knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to neuromuscular diagnostics.
- Experience working in medicine environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and emergency response procedures.
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge related to nerves and muscles for accurate testing interpretation.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
