CGI is seeking a highly skilled Dynatrace Engineer to support an engagement at one of our leading banking clients within their Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and optimizing Dynatrace-based observability across cloud-native applications, Kubernetes environments, and enterprise services.
This role requires deep expertise in Dynatrace, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, cloud observability, application performance monitoring (APM), infrastructure monitoring, and automation within large-scale, mission-critical environments.
The candidate will collaborate closely with platform engineering, cloud operations, application development, and SRE teams to enhance service reliability, improve operational visibility, and enable proactive detection and resolution of incidents across the enterprise platform.
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto or Client office at a minimum 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Dynatrace monitoring solutions across GCP-hosted environments.
- Configure Dynatrace OneAgent, ActiveGate, RUM, Synthetic Monitoring, Distributed Tracing, and Davis AI.
- Develop observability solutions for applications running on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Build Dashboards, service flow maps, management zones, alerting policies, and monitoring configurations.
- Collaborate with development teams on observability best practices.
- Support SRE initiatives to improve reliability and performance.
- Create proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
- Analyze performance issues and recommend remediation strategies.
- Integrate Dynatrace with ITSM and incident management tools.
- Develop automation and monitoring-as-code solutions.
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
- Support SLOs, SLAs, and operational reporting.
- Partner with cloud engineering teams on observability design.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Dynatrace Expertise
- 5+ years enterprise monitoring experience.
- 3+ years Dynatrace hands-on experience.
- OneAgent, ActiveGate, Davis AI, APM, distributed tracing, RUM, Synthetic Monitoring.
Cloud & GCP
- GCP experience supporting production workloads.
- GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging.
- Microservices and container observability.
SRE Practices
- OneAgent, ActiveGate, Davis AI, APM, distributed tracing, RUM, Synthetic Monitoring.

Automation
- Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

**CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000–$145,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
