About Commissary Connect
Commissary Connect is building the infrastructure that helps food businesses grow. From startups and food trucks, to established food manufacturers, we support hundreds of food entrepreneurs through shared kitchen facilities, technology, consulting, and food hub development. Alongside operating multiple commissary kitchens across Metro Vancouver, we're helping shape the future of regional food systems through innovative software, hardware, and partnerships that improve access to commercial food production.
We're looking for a creative, organized, and proactive Marketing & Communications Assistant to help tell our story and support the incredible businesses within our community.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on marketing experience while working closely with a small, entrepreneurial team. No two days are the same–you'll have the chance to contribute across marketing, communications, events, and community engagement.
This position begins at 10–20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling and at least one day per week working in person. We are looking for someone available to begin mid-August 2026 for training, with regular hours starting in September.
What You'll Do
- Create and distribute monthly newsletters to community members & stakeholders.
- Assist with content creation for Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Film and edit short-form videos using tools such as CapCut.
- Write emails, announcements, and marketing communications.
- Support relationship building with members, partners, and community organizations.
- Help organize marketing initiatives, events, and promotional campaigns.
- Assist with general communications and administrative marketing tasks.
- Jump into a variety of projects as new opportunities arise.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Is organized and detail-oriented.
- Enjoys creating content and has basic photo/video editing skills.
- Is comfortable using social media platforms, particularly Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Is proactive, adaptable, and excited to learn.
- Enjoys building relationships and working with entrepreneurs.
- Can manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Is available to work at least one day per week in person in Vancouver.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in, or partway through, a university or college program in Business, Marketing, Communications, Commerce, or a related field.
- Previous marketing, communications, customer service, or event experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with CapCut, Canva, or similar content creation tools is an asset.
Compensation & Schedule
- $21/hour to start.
- 10-20 hours per week.

- Mid-August start with in-person onboarding and training.
