Knelsen Sand & Gravel Ltd. is a leading road construction company providing premier services throughout Alberta. We are currently seeking a Skid Steer Operator to join our paving crew for the construction season.
Position Overview
As a Skid Steer Operator, you will play an essential role in paving operations by supporting asphalt placement, site preparation, and finishing work. You will work closely with the paving crew to ensure efficient, high-quality results while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
This role is ideal for an experienced operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in precision, teamwork, and safe operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a skid steer to support paving operations and crew activities
- Assist with material movement, site preparation, and cleanup
- Support asphalt placement and finishing processes
- Work closely with paving crew members to meet production and quality goals
- Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite
General Qualifications
- Experience operating a skid steer in paving or construction environments
- Knowledge of paving equipment and processes is considered an asset
- Ability to work effectively as part of a crew
- Strong communication, problem solving, and time management skills
- Willingness to travel as projects and locations vary throughout the season
- Flexibility to work extended hours and overtime as required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Commitment to safety—this is a safety-sensitive position with pre-employment drug screening required
