We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to join our team on an on-call, casual basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors during scheduled shifts and on short notice. This role requires a proactive approach to security, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed and that any suspicious activities are reported promptly.
Availability Requirements
- Open Availability: Candidates must have flexible availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- On-Call Responsibilities: Must be available to respond to short-notice call-ins to cover staff absences, emergencies, or peak operational periods.
Duties
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or irregularities.
- Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, providing assistance as needed.
- Conduct regular surveillance using CCTV systems to ensure the safety of premises.
- Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and protect property.
- Report any incidents or suspicious activities to management or law enforcement as necessary.
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying potential theft or safety hazards.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries from clients and visitors in a professional manner.
- Maintain readiness to step into active duty quickly when called upon for a shift.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven flexibility: Demonstrated ability to manage a casual/on-call schedule effectively.
- Proven experience in law enforcement or security roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with surveillance systems, including CCTV operation and monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of loss prevention techniques and strategies.
- Excellent observational skills with the ability to remain alert at all times.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for reporting incidents clearly.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in high-pressure situations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on conflict resolution.
