Propell is looking for Welder Journeypersons to join our Calgary manufacturing team as part of our afternoon shift. (Mon-Thurs; 4@10-hour shifts)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read, interpret and apply production drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, fabrication details and manufacturing specifications to accurately layout, fit, weld and fabricate products, assemblies, sub-assemblies and components
- Perform a variety of welding processes including SMAW, FCAW, GTAW (TIG) and oxy-fuel cutting, in accordance with company procedures, applicable codes and customer specifications
- Measure, mark, fit, tack and assemble materials to required dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments and layout tools
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure compliance with quality standards, welding procedures, engineering requirements and customer specifications
- Maintain welding equipment, tools and work areas in a clean, organized and serviceable condition
- Mentor, support and provide guidance to apprentices and less experienced employees in safe work practices, welding techniques and fabrication processes
- Promote a culture of safety at all times
QUALIFICATIONS
- Journeyperson Trade Certificate
- CWB ticket(s)
- 3+ years of experience in welding and/or fabrication an asset
- Able to interpret and follow written instructions and engineering drawings
- Strong knowledge and skill in operating all metalworking machinery
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work well in both independent and team environments
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
