NOW HIRING: Scheduling Coordinator (English/French bilingualism required).
Job Summary - Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the Scheduling Coordinator is responsible to ensure that the right home care worker provides the right service(s) to the right client at the right time. The Scheduling Coordinator is a key communication link between the professional nursing staff, frontline staff and clients/patients. The position demands strong communication skills, tact and diplomacy and mastery of an electronic database. Must be fluently bilingual (English & French).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - working with exceptional attention to customer satisfaction and detail, the Scheduling Coordinator works to ensure:
- Caseload scheduling to ensure quality service and client-centred care;
- safe work is provided to Personal Support Workers (PSWs);
- new clients receive services in a timely manner;
- correct information and appropriate referrals are provided to families and clients;
- the policies and procedures of VHA are followed; and
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS -
Education - University degree at the Bachelor's level preferred.
- community college diploma (2+ years) OR the equivalent blend of education and experience where the educational equivalent is a PSW certificate plus a certificate in social or health-related services.
Experience - practical experience working in a community-based setting is preferred.
Other Skills & Abilities -
- fluently bilingual (English/French)
- computer literacy; experience using GoldCare or similar integrated database.
- cooperation, a pleasant attitude and good natured manner in working with clients and co-workers;
- able to work independently and as part of a team;
- able to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks; strong organizational skills in a fast-pace environment;
- able to handle challenging situations in a calm, objective manner.

Requirements -
- Able to communicate verbally and in writing, in English and in French;
- able to provide proof of up-to-date adult vaccinations, including:
- Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Diphtheria , Pertussis and Tetanus within the last ten years + at least two Covid vaccinations, as approved by Health Canada, + one-Step TB test within the last year.
- Clear police record check
- Demonstrated ability to use sound judgement and effective problem-solving skills;
- Positive work references.
