The School – Busby School
Busby School (K-6) is located in Busby, Alberta (approximately 40 minutes north of St. Albert). The school’s culture is one of a large family where everyone takes care of everyone else. The Position
The successful candidate must be a self-directed team player who is interested in providing support and encouragement to students with a diversity of learning needs in the classroom. Hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 31 hours per week,following the school calendar. Duties to commence August 27, 2026 and will end June 25, 2027.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students with a range of academic and social needs including challenging behaviours
- Experience working with young children and a familiarity with the principles and practices of inclusion
- Ability to work in a variety of classroom settings and grade levels
- Preference will be given to applicants with an understanding of childhood development
- A clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a program assistant
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and adults
- Able to work as a member of the school team
- Willingness to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other professionals
- Enthusiastic and motivated to help students succeed
- SIVA Training would be an asset
- First aid would be an asset
