Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various painting disciplines, including residential, commercial, restoration, and industrial painting. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint and coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes on a variety of projects. The Painter will work closely with project managers and clients to meet specifications and deadlines, utilizing a range of tools and techniques to deliver exceptional results.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and power tools
- Perform restoration work on damaged or aged surfaces to restore them to original condition
- Utilize rigging and scaffolding safely for elevated or hard-to-reach areas
- Operate hand tools and carpentry skills for surface preparation or minor repairs
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment during all phases of work
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure project requirements are met on time
- Maintain a clean work environment and properly store tools and materials after use
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting, restoration, or industrial painting
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, caulking guns, and other relevant equipment
- Knowledge of rigging techniques for scaffolding or lifts is a plus
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively
- Excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines efficiently
- Experience with surface preparation techniques such as sanding and caulking is preferred
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments including construction sites or restoration projects
- Prior experience in carpentry or working with schematics is advantageous
- Reliable transportation is considered an asset
