Streamline Fire Protection Ltd. is looking for an experienced Journeyman Inspection & Service Technician to join our growing team. We specialize in the inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, and service of fire sprinkler systems throughout Alberta.
We're looking for a motivated professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service, producing high-quality work, and helping customers maintain safe and code-compliant fire protection systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance (ITM) of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards and applicable building and fire codes.
- Conduct flow tests, hydrostatic tests, and other required system testing.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair system deficiencies including sprinkler heads, valves, gauges, fire pumps, and associated equipment.
- Troubleshoot system impairments and recommend corrective actions.
- Complete service repairs, alterations, and emergency call-outs.
- Prepare accurate digital inspection reports, deficiency notices, and service documentation.
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and other trades.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean and professional manner.
- Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately one week every 4–5 weeks).
- Travel and work out of town when required.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter (Red Seal preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in fire sprinkler inspection, testing, maintenance, and service
- Strong working knowledge of:
- NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 25
- Applicable building and fire codes
- Wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems
- Steel and CPVC sprinkler systems
- Fire pumps and associated equipment
- Blueprint interpretation and piping specifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience completing digital inspection reports
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
- Positive attitude and strong commitment to safety
Required Certifications
- Red Seal Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter
- CSTS 2020
- Fall Protection
- Aerial Work Platform
- WHMIS (asset)
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving abstract
- Clean Criminal Record Check
Additional Assets (Considered an Advantage)
- CFAA certification or fire alarm experience
- Cross-Connection / Backflow Prevention certification
- Fire Extinguisher inspection and service experience
