About the Position
We are looking for an ambitious self-starter to become an integral part of our small team as we grow our firm and help you take your career to the next level. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who works hard to get clients the most value for their money whether that is through income tax savings, professional fee reduction, business consulting, etc. We value people who take initiative to consider operations and give clients expert advice.
Main Job Duties
- Preparation of compilation engagement financial information
- Preparing personal and corporate income tax returns
- Effectively communicate with clients in person as well as via email, telephone, and web portal
Skills
- Experience using Caseware Working Papers, QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Sage 50, and Excel
- Understanding of fundamental bookkeeping principles and HST requirements
- Experience preparing T1 personal, T2 corporate, and T3 trust returns is an asset
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrates initiative in assessing client situations, applying professional judgment, and developing practical solutions
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse client base
- Familiarity with AI tools and willingness to incorporate them appropriately into daily workflow
Qualifications
- Expierence in public accounting is an asset
- Diploma in Accounting
- Proficiency using CaseWare Working Papers is considered an asset
- Eligibility to work in Canada
Location and Hours
- Ability to commute or relocate to work in person at our office located five minutes outside of Tilbury, ON.
- Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm with the ability to work overtime through tax season (mid-February through April 30)
- Flexible hours available upon discussion
- On site with opportunity to work from home in the off season
Compensation
- $50,000- $75,000 based on experience and qualifications
- 2 weeks paid vacation plus the christmas holiday through to the new years day holiday paid off.
- There is no upper limit on compensation for this role as the firm continues to grow, and we look forward to prospering together with the successful candidate
