Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Septic Installer to join our construction and environmental services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing septic systems in residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, heavy equipment operation, and safety protocols to ensure efficient and compliant installations. The position offers opportunities for hands-on work with various tools and machinery, contributing to essential infrastructure projects.
Duties
- Install septic tanks, drain fields, and related components according to project specifications and local regulations
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging gear to excavate trenches and move materials
- Use hand tools and power tools for precise installation tasks, including cutting, fitting, and securing system components
- Perform electrical work related to low voltage wiring for septic systems when necessary
- Conduct site assessments to determine optimal locations for septic system installation
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and environmental regulations
- Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections and basic repairs
- Assist with site cleanup and preparation before and after installation activities
Requirements
- Proven experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging techniques
- Mechanical knowledge related to septic systems or similar infrastructure projects
- Electrical experience with low voltage wiring is preferred
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and perform basic maintenance on machinery
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment use and excavation work
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy materials safely
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; equipment experience preferred
- Prior experience in septic system installation or construction is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
