Edenbridge Family Services Inc. has been providing services to adults and children with special needs since 1990, as well as to individuals requiring personal care services. In addition, Edenbridge has also been a teaching facility, providing training and certification in a number of areas specific to direct client service. Edenbridge, as we presently exist, continues in the traditions, policies and excellence it has created to provide ongoing supports and services to children and adults with Developmental Disabilities, support for those who require assistance with their independence, and individuals with Mental Health challenges.
The Opportunity
Edenbridge Family Services is currently seeking for an an enthusiastic, self-motivated Support Worker with a passion for assisting persons with developmental disabilities in their daily lives while helping them build independence, confidence, and connections within their community.

What You Will Do
- Provide personalized, day-to-day support tailored to each person's needs and preferences
- Assist with household management, personal care, medication administration, and physical supports such as lifting and transferring
- Support people in identifying and working toward their goals, dreams, and aspirations
- Encourage independence, self-determination, and community involvement
- Act as a role model and companion, helping with life skills, recreation, and leisure activities
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized support plans
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of supports and progress
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
What Would You Need To Be Part Of Our Team:
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and/or similar roles, including mental health support, physical assistance, and personal care
- Previous experience in Disability Services is an asset
- Ability to teach and promote life skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and positive relationships
- A flexible, positive approach to problem solving and adapting to changing situations
- A genuine commitment to empowering individuals and promoting independence and dignity
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with general computer tasks, including accurate documentation (log notes, timecards, scheduling systems)
- Physical capability to safely lift and transfer up to 40 lbs (18.14 kg)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license, reliable vehicle, and $2 million liability insurance
The ideal candidate should have the following or be willing to work towards it within 3 months of employment:
- Emergency First Aid and CPR certification
- Clear Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check
- Participate in mandatory in-service training as indicated by the Executive Director
