Job Summary:
The Roofer/Shingler is responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing shingle roofing systems on residential and light commercial buildings. This role requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely at heights while ensuring roofs are weather-tight and meet building codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Install asphalt shingles and roofing materials according to manufacturer specifications
- Remove existing roofing materials and prepare surfaces for new installation
- Install underlayment, flashing, drip edges, vents, and ridge caps
- Measure and cut roofing materials to fit roof structures
- Repair or replace damaged shingles and roofing components
- Ensure proper sealing and waterproofing
- Maintain a clean and safe job site
- Follow safety procedures and use fall-protection equipment
- Work effectively as part of a roofing crew
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience as a roofer or shingler preferred
- Knowledge of roofing tools, materials, and techniques
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Physically fit; able to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
Experience and Certification
- Fall Arrest Safety Training
- Atleast 2 yrs of previous experience
