We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and family-centered Speech-Language Pathologist to provide services to our young autistic child through a Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) contract. The successful candidate will work closely with our family and other professionals to develop communication skills that can be incorporated into our child's daily routines. Responsibilities Conduct speech and language assessments and develop individualized therapy goals. Provide evidence-based speech and language intervention tailored to our child's unique strengths and needs. Support the development of functional communication, including spoken language, AAC, gestures, and other communication methods as appropriate. Coach and train parents and caregivers to implement communication strategies during everyday activities. Collaborate with the child's Behavioural Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and other members of the support team to ensure a coordinated approach. Prepare progress reports, treatment plans, and documentation required by the FSCD program. Participate in team meetings and adjust therapy goals based on the child's progress. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Registered and in good standing with the Alberta regulatory college. Experience working with autistic children, particularly minimally speaking or non-speaking children. Knowledge of evidence-based autism interventions and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) is considered an asset. Strong communication, collaboration, and family coaching skills.
