Manatokan Oilfield Services Inc., part of the ASCO Group of Companies, is a full-service fluid management and industrial and chemical cleaning company with bases in La Corey (Lakeland Region) and Conklin (Athabasca Region), Alberta, Canada. We are currently looking for experienced operators in both regions across a range of disciplines.
We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Semi Vac Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for safely operating semi vac equipment in support of tank cleaning, desanding, and desludging projects while delivering reliable service to our clients. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently while maintaining strong communication with dispatch and site contacts.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain daily communication with dispatch regarding assigned jobs, scheduling, and operational updates while working effectively with minimal supervision.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of equipment and ensure the unit is safe, compliant, and prepared for the day’s work.
- Manage departure times efficiently to ensure on-time arrival at client locations.
- Check in with client representatives upon arrival to receive site-specific direction, confirm scope of work, and obtain any required permits or documentation.
- Safely perform assigned work in accordance with company procedures, client requirements, and all applicable safety standards.
- Operate semi vac equipment safely and efficiently to support desanding operations, remove solids from tank bottoms, and provide vacuum support for tank cleaning projects.
- Provide vacuum truck support for a variety of industrial cleaning and maintenance projects.
- Transport loaded units to designated disposal facilities selected by the client for offloading and washout in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Return equipment to home base at the end of each shift, including fueling, cleaning, washing, and general upkeep to ensure the unit is left in excellent condition for the next operator.
- Take pride in maintaining clean, well-kept equipment and contributing to the overall professionalism of the fleet.

Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)
- Class 1 driver's license.
- A clean Driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerits)
- Manual handling experience and the ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- H2S, First Aid, Common Safety Orientation (CSO) required (mandatory).
- Ability to work within a team and follow directions from supervision.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- A 3 year+ proven track record of relevant experience working in the oilfield.
Other Competencies considered to be an asset
Valid confined space, elevated work platform, fall protection training, manual and automated tank and vessel cleaning experience.
What you can expect
Various work rotations are available to fit your lifestyle: 24/4 - 21/7 - 21/14 - 21/21 - 14/7- 14/14- 7/7- with 10-hour shifts.
Travel reimbursement of up-to $1,000 is also provided based on your rotation, mode of transportation and other relevant factors, and transportation to and from the Edmonton airport.
Depending on the specific worksite, company or client camp/accommodations with private bathroom facilities, complimentary meals, and an on-site recreation area will be provided.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake and pass a pre-employment screening that includes a drug and alcohol test.
