Product Development Test Technician ( HVAC - Gas Fireplaces)
Summary :
Are you an experienced HVAC or mechanical technician who enjoys hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and product development? We are looking for a Product Development Test Technician to join our engineering team and support the testing, validation and certification of innovative gas fireplace products.
EDUCATION
Diploman in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related Engineering Technology program.

- Engineering drawings and blueprints
- Fabrication and assembly techniques
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics skills
- Experience with fabrication, welding , and prototype development
- Excellent technical report writing skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Basic knowledge of SolidWorks
- Experience working with certification bodies such as CSA Group or Intertrek
CERTIFICATIONS
G2 or G3 Gas Technician License
NFI ( National Frieplace Institure ) Certification
What you will do :
Conduct performance, safety, environmental , electrical, and durability testing on gas fireplace products. Validate products to CSA Group and ANSI Z21.88 standards. Set up and operate laboratory test equioment and instrumentation . Collect, analyze and document test results. Prepare detailed technical reports with findings and recommentations. Build, modify and evaluate prototypes throughout the product development process. Perform sheet metail fabrication, assembly , and product modifications. Troubleshoot product performance issues and support root cause investigations. Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and calibration records. Support product certification with third-party testing agencies. Provide guidance and training to junior technicians, co-op students , and lab assistants. Work closely with engineers to improve product quality, reliability and performance.
Pay: $60.00-$80.00 per year
