Position Summary:
The AZ Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company trucks, including dump trucks, float trailers, and tractor-trailers, to transport excavation equipment and materials. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, compliance with Ontario regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Operate AZ-class vehicles (tractor-trailers, dump trucks, floats) in a safe and professional manner
· Transport heavy equipment (excavators, skid steers, loaders) to various job sites
· Haul aggregates, soil, and construction materials as required
· Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with MTO regulations
· Secure loads properly to ensure safe transport of equipment and materials
· Maintain accurate driver logs and documentation (ELDs, trip sheets, safety records)
· Coordinate with dispatch and site supervisors to meet scheduling requirements
· Assist with loading and unloading equipment when needed
· Adhere to all company health and safety policies and Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations
· Report any mechanical issues, incidents, or delays promptly
Qualifications:
· Valid Ontario AZ Driver’s Licence in good standing
· Clean driver’s abstract and CVOR record
· Minimum 2–3 years of AZ driving experience (construction or excavation industry preferred)
· Experience hauling heavy equipment and operating float trailers is an asset
· Knowledge of load securement regulations and safe driving practices
· Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills
· Physically capable of performing job duties, including climbing onto equipment and securing loads
Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
