Qualifications: Early Childhood Education Diploma and Registered with the College of ECE’s; Standard Infant First Aid & CPR Certificate; Vulnerable Sector Check; experience with Children/in a Child Care Centre, Bilingual or other languages an asset.
Function of the Position: : The RECE is a member of the Adult Language and Learning Team responsible for providing a warm and stimulating environment for the children through a play based family centered curriculum.
Responsibilities of the Position:
a) Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills for relating to both children and adults. Skills in listening, observing, planning and evaluating which are used to support the children’s learning, development, health and well-being.
b) a) Documenting the children’s developmental milestones through written “Learning Stories” which are posted (hall bulletin board and SeeSaw for parents, children and families on a regular basis).
c) Providing provocations that spark questions, interests, ideas, theories, discussions, debates and engages the children’s thinking.
d) Involvement with families on a daily basis.
e) Program setup and cleanup.
f) Cleanliness of toys and equipment as well as the overall appearance of the childcare adn CNC rooms.
g) Know and understand the philosophy, policies and procedures of all aspects of Adult Language and Learning and the Childcare Care Centre.
h) Attendance at staff meetings and training.
i) Remain professional at all times and respect confidentiality.
j) Keep immunization and first aid requirements updated.
k) Other skills: ability to use digital technology for reporting purposes
l) Other carefully defined responsibilities as assigned in consultation with the Child Care Coordinator and Executive Director.
Outline of General Working Schedule:
26 hours per week Monday – Friday between 8:30 - 4:00
