Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be working in a fast-paced environment to provide exceptional service to our customers while efficiently handling transactions. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers with their purchases efficiently and accurately and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.
Responsibilities
· Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
· Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing any concerns in person and over the phone.
· Perform stocking duties to ensure shelves are well-organized and fully stocked.
· Respond to and handle customer inquiries, requests and concerns over the phone and in person.
· Handle cash transactions with accuracy and maintain proper cash handling procedures.
· Upsell products when appropriate to enhance the customer shopping experience.
· Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
· Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and provide support during busy periods.
Skills
· Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
· Experience with cash handling procedures (is an asset).
· Proficient in basic math for accurate transaction processing.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, weekends and holidays
· Approachable and highly customer-oriented
· Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Attention to detail
· Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
· Ability to operate cash register (asset)
