Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fitter to join our team. This role involves fabricating and assembling metal components using various welding techniques and fitting skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience with blueprint reading, and proficiency with a range of tools and machinery. Duties
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure precision in fabrication
- Operate plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape materials
- Rigging and positioning materials or equipment using cranes or forklifts as needed
- Assemble fabricated parts into final products or structures following safety standards and specifications
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers and other measurement tools to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to welding, machining, and construction activities
- Assist in troubleshooting fabrication issues and recommend improvements for efficiency and safety
Requirements
- Proven experience in welding within a manufacturing or construction setting
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions
- Familiarity with rigging, crane operation, forklift handling, and basic machining processes
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, calipers, plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and welding equipment
- Knowledge of assembly processes, schematics interpretation, and construction practices is a plus
- Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to fabrication tasks
- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work safely around industrial equipment while maintaining high-quality standards
- Physical capability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods during shifts
