Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant bakery team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about baking, food preparation, and customer service. The Bakery Assistant will support daily bakery operations, assist with food handling and packaging, and contribute to creating a welcoming environment for our customers. Prior experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is a plus, but we welcome motivated learners eager to develop their skills in a professional bakery environment.
Duties
- Assist in preparing baked goods, including mixing, measuring, and assembling ingredients
- Support cake decorating and presentation to ensure visually appealing products
- Help with food safety procedures and proper food handling practices
- Package baked items efficiently for display or customer orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and assisting customers as needed
- Support kitchen operations during busy periods, including food preparation and cooking tasks
- Ensure all products meet quality standards before sale or display
Experience
- Previous experience in a bakery, restaurant, Cafe or food service environment is preferred but not required
- Skills in cake decorating, baking, and food presentation are highly desirable
- Familiarity with food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques
- Experience with food industry equipment and kitchen tools is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to baking, food preparation, and kitchen operations
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
