We are seeking an energetic, engaging, and compassionate fitness instructor to lead mobility, movement, chair yoga, strength, balance, and active aging programs for adults aged 50+ throughout Markham and surrounding communities.
Programs will be delivered at community centres, libraries, retirement residences, seniors' groups, and other community venues.

What You'll Be Doing
- Lead Chair Yoga classes
- Lead Mobility & Movement Workshops
- Facilitate Strength & Balance programs
- Deliver Active Aging educational workshops
- Demonstrate exercises safely and confidently
- Provide exercise modifications when needed
- Create a welcoming and encouraging environment
- Travel to various community locations throughout Markham
- Track attendance and provide basic participant feedback
You do NOT need to create the programs.

Your role is to deliver the program, engage participants, and create an outstanding experience.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience leading group fitness, yoga, mobility, wellness, or active aging classes
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups
- Positive, professional, and approachable personality
- Passion for helping adults improve their quality of life
- Reliable transportation
- CPR/First Aid Certification is an asset
- Fitness, Yoga, Recreation, Kinesiology, Physiotherapy Assistant, or related certifications are an asset
Schedule
- Approximately 1–5 classes per week to start
- Daytime and evening availability preferred
- Flexible scheduling based on community programs and workshop bookings
- Ongoing year-round opportunities
- Additional classes may be added as programs expand
- Most programs will take place at community centres, libraries, retirement residences, and community organizations throughout Markham and surrounding areas
Compensation
- Competitive hourly rate
- Paid teaching time
- Mileage reimbursement may be available for certain locations
