Job Description
Responsibilities of the Pump Mechanic include, but are not limited to:
- Receive, disassemble, inspect, paint, package/prepare for shipment centrifugal pumps as well as other related rotating equipment
- Assist with training and developing Pump Mechanic personnel to ensure efficient use of manpower and compliance with customer requirements
- Monitor progress of orgers and assign and guide shop personnel to complete those repairs
- Supervise and train other technicians
- Qualifications of the Lead Pump Mechanic include, but are not limited to:
- 5-7+ years of experience working in a pump repair shop facility with previous experience repairing ANSI and other centrifugal pumps and other related rotating equipment prepared
- In-depth understanding of ANSI, and other applicable standards
- Ability to read pump sectional, machine drawings, and OEM pump manuals
- Disassembly, inspection, ability to write up a detailed rotating equipment report to all necessary repairs and or replacement parts needed, Ex: assembly prep, assembly, pneumatic pressure testing of assembled equipment, painting of finished repair and final inspection
- Safely use hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools
- Experience with pneumatic and hydrostatic testing of parts and equipment
- Ability to read and understand mechanical seal drawings, mechanical seal removal, installation, and pneumatic pressure testing preferred
- Ability to work with multiple and competing priorities in a fast paced environment
- Ability to achieve results with minimal supervision
- Background check, physical, and drug test required

Additional Information:
Physical Demand: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions: Must be able to work in a shop environment without AC and heat, with possible exposure to dirt, heat, and noise.
