Join our dedicated healthcare team as a PRN – Mobile OAT Dosing Specialist, where your expertise will directly impact patient recovery and well-being. In this dynamic role, you will provide personalized medication management for individuals undergoing opioid agonist therapy (OAT), delivering care in diverse settings with flexibility and compassion. Your proactive approach and clinical skills will ensure safe, effective dosing while fostering trust and support for those on their journey to recovery.
Duties
- Administer medication doses for patients in various community or outpatient settings, ensuring adherence to prescribed treatment plans
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ health status and medication responses during each visit
- Educate patients about their medication regimen, potential side effects, and the importance of compliance to promote positive outcomes
- Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to communicate patient progress, concerns, or adjustments needed in treatment plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of all dosing activities, patient interactions, and clinical observations in compliance with regulatory standards
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries or emergencies related to medication administration, providing reassurance and guidance
- Travel safely between different locations as required, ensuring timely and reliable service delivery
Qualifications
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current CPR certification
- Experience in addictions, mental health, or community nursing preferred
- Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent attention to detail and safety protocols
- Knowledge of opioid treatment programs (OTPs), medication management best practices, and relevant regulatory guidelines is a plus but not mandatory
- Maintain compliance with Ontario regulatory standards.
