Karma Legal Professional Corporation is a growing and dynamic law firm located in Vaughan, Ontario. We are seeking a highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant, Law Clerk, or Licensed Paralegal to join our team.
This position offers the opportunity to work directly with lawyers and clients while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced legal environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the firm's day-to-day operations and assisting with legal matters from inception to resolution.
Practice Areas
The successful candidate will primarily assist with matters involving:
- Family Law
- Immigration Law
- Civil Litigation
- Real Estate Law (asset)
Previous experience in Family Law is considered a significant asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lawyers with the management of legal files from opening to closing.
- Prepare, review, organize, and file court documents and legal correspondence.
- Draft routine legal documents, forms, and correspondence.
- Schedule client meetings, court appearances, mediations, and other appointments.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties.
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic client files.
- File documents through applicable court and tribunal filing systems.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails, and telephone communications.
- Provide administrative and general office support.
- Maintain calendars, deadlines, and limitation periods.
- Work independently on assigned files while ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Assist with client intake and file management procedures.
Qualifications
- College diploma, law clerk diploma, paralegal diploma, university degree, or equivalent legal education.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a law firm environment.
- Experience handling Family Law matters is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Familiarity with legal software and court filing systems is considered an asset.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.

Requirements
- This is an in-person position based at our Vaughan, Ontario office.
- Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to commute to the office daily.
- Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability, ranging between $37,000 and $40,000 annually.
