You'll play a key leadership role connecting production, templating, sales, and installation teams to ensure every project is completed safely, efficiently, and at the highest standard.

What You'll Do
As the Fabrication Operations Manager, you will oversee all aspects of daily shop operations and lead a team focused on quality, efficiency, and accountability.
Responsibilities include:
Production & Operations Leadership
- Lead daily fabrication activities including cutting, polishing, finishing, staging, and quality control
- Manage production schedules to meet installation timelines and customer expectations
- Coordinate workflow between sales, templating, production, and installation teams
- Troubleshoot shop issues and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Monitor shop performance and maintain production reporting metrics
Team Leadership
- Train, mentor, coach, and develop fabrication team members
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback
- Lead with integrity, humility, clear communication, and professionalism
Process Improvement & Efficiency
- Implement and improve SOPs for all fabrication processes
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and eliminate bottlenecks
- Optimize slab layouts and nesting to maximize material yield
- Ensure all fabrication work is completed at least 3 days prior to installation for inspection and load-out preparation
- Evaluate workflow data and continuously improve production efficiency
Equipment & Facility Management
- Oversee operation and preventative maintenance of CNC equipment, bridge saws, polishers, and fabrication machinery
- Monitor machine utilization and minimize downtime
- Ensure proper handling, transport, and storage of stone materials
Quality & Safety
- Maintain high-quality standards at every stage of production
- Enforce OSHA and workplace safety standards
- Ensure strict quality checkpoints throughout fabrication
- Conduct final pre-load inspections before materials leave the facility
Pre-Load Quality Inspection Responsibilities
Before every scheduled installation, you'll ensure:
- All pieces match work orders and approved drawings
- Critical dimensions and cutouts are verified
- Finished products meet quality expectations
- Installation materials and accessories are included
- Sinks, fixtures, and customer-provided items are properly staged
- Products are labeled and protected for transportation
- Installation teams receive complete and accurate documentation
What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of stone fabrication experience
- 1–2+ years in a leadership or management role
- Strong knowledge of granite, quartz, marble, and fabrication techniques
- Experience with CNC programming and fabrication software preferred
- Experience templating with laser template devices
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Forklift experience and safe slab handling knowledge
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Proven problem-solving ability and attention to detail
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in an active fabrication environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Lift up to 75 lbs with assistance
- Comfortable working around machinery, noise, and dust (PPE provided)
