Protrans Personnel Services is currently recruiting for a permanent Customer Service Representative – Inside Sales position with a well-established industrial distribution company in Halifax, NS.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service, inside sales, order desk, sales support, or technical product support experience who is looking to build a long-term career in a business-to-business sales and service environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical wholesale, electrical distribution, industrial distribution, HVAC, building materials, construction supply, plumbing supply, or another technical product environment. Candidates with strong B2B customer service and inside sales experience from related industries will also be considered.
This role is well suited for someone who enjoys helping customers, processing orders, solving problems, learning technical products, and supporting account managers. There is also long-term growth potential for candidates interested in developing into outside sales or account management in the future.
As the Customer Service Representative – Inside Sales, you will support customers, sales representatives, and internal branch operations by providing accurate, timely, and professional service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responding to customer inquiries by phone and email in a professional manner
- Processing customer orders, quotes, pricing requests, billing inquiries, and order updates
- Supporting inside sales and account management activities
- Assisting customers with product information, availability, order status, and service requests
- Working with internal teams to resolve customer issues, returns, warranty matters, and claims
- Providing administrative support related to order entry, pricing, invoicing, and customer accounts
- Using ERP and internal systems to manage customer and order information
- Building strong customer relationships and supporting repeat business
- Identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate product or service solutions
- Keeping management informed of customer feedback, product issues, and market activity
- Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced branch environment
The successful candidate will bring a combination of customer service, inside sales, technical aptitude, and strong attention to detail.
Required qualifications:
- Previous customer service, inside sales, sales support, order desk, counter sales, or account support experience
- Experience in a B2B, distribution, wholesale, industrial, construction, or technical product environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong administrative, organizational, and follow-up skills
- Comfortable using ERP systems, order entry systems, CRM tools, or similar business software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to learn technical products and communicate product information to customers
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage orders, pricing, and customer requests accurately
- Positive, professional, customer-focused attitude
Preferred experience:
- Electrical wholesale or electrical distribution experience
- Industrial distribution experience
- HVAC, building materials, plumbing supply, construction supply, or related industry experience
- Inside sales or counter sales experience
- Experience supporting account managers or outside sales representatives
- Technical product knowledge or willingness to learn technical products
- Salary range: $50,000 – $60,000 per year
