Overview
The SRT Group is looking for a Trailer Mechanic to join our team of dedicated professionals. The Trailer Mechanic will be responsible for repairing or replacing damaged or malfunctioning parts on trailers of various types and ensuring they are safe to drive. We are seeking an individual with a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills that can be applied to a variety of situations.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and repair trailers of various kids (reefer / dry van / multi temps).
- Work with drivers to determine what caused the problem with the trailer.
- Perform regular inspections on trailer's brakes, tires, lights, and other parts that can affect safety.
- Repair or replace faulty components, such as engine components, brakes, and suspension systems, etc.
- Perform basic tasks such as oil changes
- Work with drivers to trouble shoot issues while they are on the road, assist with sourcing repair shops if needed.
- Other tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on trailers or heavy equipment preferred
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other heavy machinery safely
- Capable of performing heavy lifting and working in physically demanding environments
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Knowledge of dealership procedures or experience working in a dealership setting is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to problem solve on the go
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings
- Employees are expected to work in a safe manner at all times.
- Work with supervisors and other employees in a respectful manner.
- Attend work consistently and on time.

Pay will be commensurate with the successful applicants skill and experience.
