JOB DETAILS
The role as Production Assistant is an entry level position to assist our personable team to cut and bind carpet. You will be undergoing training in the shop and when you feel comfortable we will get you into cutting carpets then later measuring and working with templates and other machines. It is routine to be lifting carpet rolls of 50 or 100 lbs but we use forklifts for anything heavier. Opportunities exist to become a Lead Hand after showing a good level of understanding of the different carpets, seaming and edging techniques. We also offer a delivery service, site installations and a broad range of front end services all providing opportunity for growth.
EXPERIENCE
English speaking. Good mobility and eyesight. Able to lift 50-100 lbs. Class 5 drivers license. We are looking for an applicant who is comfortable with using a utility knife as cutting is a big part of the job. Prolonged standing or sitting and frequent kneeling to do cuts is also part of the job. Prior experience with other hand tools and examples of attention to detail may set you apart from other applicants.

While the entry position may be simply cutting and binding of carpet we are pretty keen to fi nd someone who can cross over to other roles. HOURS AND PAY
Our shop is located off 34th Ave and Blackfoot Trail with bus service right to our shop. Your working hours would be M-F 8:30 - 5:00 with half an hour for lunch. We are always flexible to provide time off for personal reasons which can be made up or adjusted in your pay. Most importantly is being conscious of the workload and the time commitment to our customers. The starting salary will be in the range of 18.75 - 21.00 per hour depending on your experience. Benefit packages are available and flexible based on your needs.
