We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Infant and Toddler Educator to join our toddler program. Duties
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of infants and toddlers
- Provide attentive supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging exploration and independence
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and daily experiences
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that supports learning and safety standards
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing appropriate assistance
- Document developmental milestones and daily observations for each child
- Collaborate with team members to develop curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
- Manage classroom routines efficiently, demonstrating strong organizational skills and time management
Skills
- Fluency in English;
- 3 years experience working with infant and toddler in childcare or early childhood education settings
- Knowledge of child development principles, including special education needs and working with individuals with disabilities
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities while maintaining a nurturing approach
- Excellent organizational skills to manage classroom activities and documentation effectively
- Computer operation skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication tools
- Classroom experience that showcases the ability to create engaging learning environments
- Time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Writing skills for documenting observations
Qualifications:
- A valid Infant/Toddler Early Childhood Education Certificate issued by the BC ECE Registry
- A valid First Aid Certificate level B
- A Criminal Record Check clearance letter
- Immunization Schedule or waiver
- Ability to provide a minimum of 3 current/satisfactory references
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with infants/toddlers in a Licensed Early Childhood Education Program
- Effective guiding and caring skills
- Strong work ethic
Days & Hours of Work:
Monday – Friday, 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week, shifts vary between 7:30am-6:00pm
Extra time may be required for meeting child/staff ratios, staff meeting and family events
This position is Temporary, Full-time designed for individuals committed to fostering young children's growth in a supportive educational setting. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for early childhood development.
Wage Grid Placement is based on years of experience in IT in Canada.
$31.17 to $33.07 per hour (includes ECE WE)
Pay: $31.17-$33.07 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 35.0 per week
Experience:
- Infant and toddler program: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification Level B (preferred)
- BC Early Childhood Education IT certificate (preferred)
