Most of our work is local to the Kelowna/Vernon area, with occasional work in surrounding communities.
This is a year-round position for the right candidate. During the winter season, there is ample shop work available for mechanically inclined individuals, along with ongoing pumping work on most days.
Responsibilities:
- Operate concrete pumps safely, efficiently, and reliably.
- Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the safety of yourself and others at all times.
- Evaluate ground and slope conditions and safely set up outriggers and dunnage accordingly.
- Safely operate company vehicles and comply with all road and job site regulations.
- Properly clean and wash out the pump system after each job.
- Maintain pipe, hoses, clamps, and related equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Perform routine maintenance and assist with repairs in the shop as required.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, contractors, and job site personnel as a representative of the company.
- Continuously strive to learn, improve, and excel as a concrete pump operator.
- Perform additional duties as required, including shop work, housekeeping, deliveries, and general yard maintenance.
Job Requirements:
- Previous concrete pumping experience is required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Valid Class 3 driver's licence is mandatory.
- Ability to lift objects weighing more than 50 lbs.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
- Willingness to work extended and variable hours, particularly during the busy summer season.
- Must wear and maintain proper PPE, including hard hat, high-visibility clothing, and steel-toe boots.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment cleanliness and care.
- Knowledge of Kelowna area truck routes and roads is considered an asset.
- Safety certifications such as WHMIS, CSTS, H2S Alive, and First Aid are considered assets.
