Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper food safety and sanitation standards
- Keep the dishwashing station organized, stocked with supplies, and sanitized throughout your shift
- Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, or portioning supplies under supervision
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness of work areas, floors, and storage spaces to meet health regulations
- Help with basic meal preparation and food handling tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen managers
- Ensure all food service items are ready for use during busy service hours by managing inventory levels and restocking supplies
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a hygienic environment at all times
Requirements
- Prior experience in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks with energy and efficiency
- Basic cooking skills or familiarity with meal preparation processes is a plus
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to follow detailed instructions and adhere to health regulations at all times
- Previous experience in the food industry involving food preparation or serving is advantageous but not mandatory
