Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. The applicant will also be trained in the preparation of our signature sauces ,appetizers ,and entrees in order to prepare them independently This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and eager to learn the tasks involved in the everyday running of a restaurant.
Duties
- Assist chefs and cooks in food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained according to health and safety standards.
- Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest quality of food preparation and storage.
- Food Safety Certification required WHMIS Certification required
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Flexibility to work various shifts-additional hours may be offered
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills in the culinary field.
