Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Asset Manager for non- strata multifamily residential assets in B.C. A newly formed property management department within our company is looking for the right person to oversee two properties within our portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing assets and purpose built rentals and lease up. They will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and profitability of properties while maintaining excellent tenant relations. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and administrative skills, along with a solid understanding of property management systems and customer service principles. The Asset Manager will play a key role in implementing company policies, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Experience with new builds and lease up of non strata purpose built rentals is a MUST HAVE.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of multiple property sites to ensure smooth functioning and high tenant satisfaction
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures aligned with company standards
- Manage leasing activities, including tenant screening, lease negotiations, and renewals
- Maintain accurate records using Yardi or similar property management software
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs through vendors or in-house teams, utilizing CMMS systems for work order tracking
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with regulations
- Lead and supervise onsite staff, providing training and performance evaluations
- Handle tenant inquiries, complaints, and conflict resolution with professionalism and courtesy
- Prepare reports on occupancy rates, financial performance, and maintenance issues for senior management
- Manage data entry tasks such as filing, record keeping, and updating tenant information efficiently
- Foster positive relationships with tenants to enhance customer satisfaction and retention
- Negotiate lease terms and service agreements to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards
Experience
- Proven experience in property management or real estate operations, preferably within a multi-site environment.
- A minimum of 10 years in residential property management in B.C.
- Strong proficiency with Yardi or comparable property management software
- Prior office experience with administrative responsibilities such as data entry, filing, and record keeping
- Demonstrated sales skills with the ability to promote leasing opportunities effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building long-term tenant relationships
- Experience negotiating lease terms and vendor contracts
- Familiarity with property management regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills including phone etiquette and professional correspondence

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
